Although Phuket is undoubtedly one of the most famous beach destinations in Thailand, a lot of travellers use Phuket as a “base location” to travel to a few famous islands nearby. Among those islands such as Phi Phi and Similan islands, one of my favourite, much much quieter island, is Koh Maiton.
แน่นอนว่าภูเก็ต เป็นที่เที่ยวทะเลอันดับต้น ๆ ของประเทศไทย และคนที่มาท่องเที่ยวเยี่ยมเยียนภูเก็ตหลายคน ก็ใช้ภูเก็ตเป็นฐานหลัก และใช้วิธีนั่งเรืออกไปสำรวจเกาะสวย ๆ ที่รายล้อมภูเก็ตอยู่หลายเกาะ สำหรับบีแล้ว นอกจากเกาะพีพีหรือสิมิลันที่โด่งดังระดับโลกแล้ว บีชอบแวะไปเที่ยว Day Trip ที่เกาะไม้ท่อน ซึ่งเป็นเกาะเล็ก ๆ เงียบ ๆ ค่ะ

WHY MAITON ISLAND? ทำไมถึงต้องเป็นเกาะไม้ท่อน?
- It is only 15-20 mins away from Phuket Deep Sea Port on a speedboat (เพราะใช้เวลาเดินทางเพียงแค่ 15-20 นาทีจากถ่าเทียบเรือน้ำลึกที่ภูเก็ต)
- It’s not flooded with tourists, as it’s a private island. No one is permitted to stay over night. (เกาะไม่ท่อน ไม่เต็มไปด้วยนักท่องเที่ยว เพราะเป็นเกาะไปรเวท ไม่มีโรงแรม ไม่อนุญาติให้ค้างคืน)
- Due to the low number of visitors, its underwater world is still rich with coral, fish and sea animals. (เพราะมีคนมาเที่ยวน้อย โลกใต้น้ำจึงยังอุดมสมบูรณ์ไปด้วยปะการังและสัตว์น้ำนา ๆ ชนิด)
- It’s home to many dolphins-no joke! If you are lucky you may spot a few. My friends and I saw some when we visited, but we couldn’t get our cameras out in time! (เกาะไม้ท่อนมีผูงปลาโลมาว่ายเวียนอยู่รอบ ๆ ด้วย! จริง ๆ วันนึงที่ไปบีกับเพื่อน ๆ ก็เคยเห็นค่ะ แต่หยิบกล้องขึ้นมาถ่ายรูปกันไม่ทัน)
