For thousands of years, rice has been the wellspring of life in the Far East in many aspects other than dietary. Long before soap was invented, the Japanese used cloths filled with rice bran to wash themselves and also soak themselves in rice bran-infused baths. The is a myth that says every single rice grain is home to seven gods and thus rice has been considered precious.
A few weeks ago I was introduced by a friend to a premium Japanese skincare brand called RICE FORCE which boasts its “nature’s energy” from rice. As am all about organic and natural products and don’t always stick to the usual mainstream brands, I was intrigued to find out more. There is a RICE FORCE beauty boutique hidden off the main street in the hustling Bangkok city. Fortunately I received an invitation to tryout their products and so–without any hesitation–I made a visit on one afternoon.

The beauty boutique offers a few facial and body treatments and I decided to go for the “Deep Moisturising Skin Care” facial treatment. The reason being the treatment uses their classic signature “Deep Moisture Series” which was one of their first product range. I learned that all RICE FORCE products’s star ingredient is the Rice Power® Extract which claims to have an essential effect on the long-time revitalisation and rejuvenation of the skin.

This Skincare brand has quite an interesting background. Believe it or not, the key extract of all RICE FORCE product was developed by a renowned Sake brewery which boasts a legacy of over 150 years. The brewery owner―who also happens to have a Ph.D. in Agricultural Science―noticed something unusual about the craftsmen who made sake. They all had smooth, supple and youthful hands, even the senior ones. Assuming it could have been the fact that their hands were making direct contacts daily with malted rice (the main ingredient of sake), the brewery owner decided to go on an in-depth research to develop a skincare product range. After having received the support from the Japanese Government and medical institutes, RICE FORCE was eventually established in 2000.

Once I have settled down a little inside the beauty boutique, a lovely aesthetician lead me to a treatment room with a nice and simple Zen-style Japanese decor. She then carefully went through the usual process of removing my makeup, deep-cleansing my skin, applying a few layers of lotion, serum, masks and other sorts of skin pampering liquids. What I noticed and really liked about the treatment is that none of the products had any strong scent.

I myself never ever have acne problem, but I have very sensitive skin–especially to perfume. Though I am always a little nervous whenever I try a new skincare product, I felt very relaxed with whatever she applied on my skin. I learned later that all RICE FORCE products are hypoallergenic and without any artificial scenting or colouring. Apparently is also suitable for anyone who has atopic eczema. On top of that, I was quite impressed by how fast all the silky (and somewhat slimy) lotions, serum and everything was absorbed into my skin. It didn’t feel heavy either. My face still felt very light and fresh, but I could also really feel all the nourishing liquids filling up my skin–layer by layer.
พนักงานที่แสนน่ารักก็เริ่มกระบวนการสปาตามปกติค่ะ ทั้งเช็ดเมคอัพ ล้างหน้า ทานู่น นวดนี่ ฯลฯ สบายมากค่ะ สิ่งนึงที่บีสังเกตเลยตั้งแต่ตอนเริ่มคือ ผลิตภัณฑ์ทุกอย่างไม่มีกลิ่นฉุนหรือกลิ่นน้ำหอมแรง ๆ เลย จริง ๆ ตั้งแต่เกิดมาบีไม่เคยมีปัญหาเรื่องสิว แต่เป็นคนผิวแพ้ง่ายมาก โดยเฉพาะน้ำหอมค่ะ พนักงานก็แจ้งให้ทราบว่า RICE FORCE จะไม่มีการเติมน้ำหอมหรือสีอะไรเลย เพราะจะเน้นให้ผลิตภัณฑ์ทุกตัวมีความใกล้เคียงกับธรรมชาติที่สุด กลิ่นหอมอ่อน ๆ ที่มีอยู่ในผลิตภัณฑ์จะเป็นกลิ่นธรรมจากชาติข้าวหอมล้วน ๆ ค่ะ
The entire session was very relaxing and refreshing at the same time (I was switching between falling asleep and being awake!). It was 60 minutes long, but I wish I could be pampered for a little longer. However I left this treatment room feeling very rejuvenated and revitalised. I remember thinking “I’m a fan now!” as I sat down in their little “waiting room” while waiting for staff to bring me my sandals.

หลังจากปิดท้ายด้วยการเป่าไอน้ำลงบนผิวแล้ว เวลา 1 ชั่วโมงก็หมดลง จบทรีตเมนต์พอดี แต่บียังรู้สึกว่าอยากอยู่ในห้องต่อ พนักงานนวดสบายมาก และที่สำคัญคือเวลานวด น้ำหนักมือซ้ายและขวาลงเท่ากันค่ะ
As I was leaving, I was very glad to find out that as the Brand Manager had kindly a arranged a little Deluxe Trial Kit for me to take home. The kit, naturally, consists of sample-sized RICE FORCE Deep Moisture Series products (which surprisingly has been lasting for over two weeks!). I have been using the kit and I am very impressed with the result.

RICE FORCE Deep Moisture Lotion (toner) is actually my favourite: this is that fast-absorbing deep hydration fluid I “felt” during the facial treatment. Its texture reminds me a little of aloe vera but perhaps a little thicker, and it gets absorbed within seconds of application on the skin. RICE FORCE Deep Moisture Essence is the star product which is particularly rich in Rice Power® Extract. This is the anti-aging master of the range. I put an extra layer of it on my lips as well and I have noticed that my lips have been looking a little fuller with a natural tint of healthy pink. ตัวที่สองนี้เป็นตัวเอกค่ะ เพราะอุดมไปด้วยส่วนประกอบสำคัญ Rice Power® Extract จึงเป็นตัวที่ช่วยฟื้นฟูสภาพผิวให้ดูอ่อนเยาว์ได้ดีมาก บีใช้ทาริมฝีปากด้วยนะคะ ช่วงนี้สังเกตได้เลยว่าริมฝีปากบีตะเต่ง ๆ และดูเต็มขึ้น และมีสีแดงชมพูอ่อน ๆ ตามธรรมชาติด้วย
RICE FORCE Deep Moisture Cream works great as a “moisture seal” to the skin. When I wake up the next morning, I can still feel the moisture from the night before on my skin. Having a rather light texture of rich cream, it never makes my skin greasy. However I mainly use it at night, as during the daytime on most days I used UV Protect Milk SPF25 PA++ which was also a part of the Deluxe Trial Kit. ตัวหลักตัวที่สามของเซทนี้คือ Deep Moisture Cream ซึ่งเป็นตัวที่ล๊อคความชุ่มชื่นและสารบำรุงต่าง ๆ ไว้ในชั้นผิวของเรา และยังช่วยป้องกันไม่ให้ผิวสูญเสียความชุ่มชื่นอีกด้วย ตื่นมาอีกวันผิวยังเต่งน้ำอยู่เลยและหน้าไม่มันด้วย บีจะใช้ตัวนี้แค่ก่อนนอน เพราะตอนกลางวันส่วนใหญ่บีใช้ UV Protect Milk SPF25 PA++ ค่ะ

Lastly, I’d like to add a final note that the Make up Remover is probably one of the best I have used (seriously!). It feels like a film of thick, non-sticky gel on the skin at first, but it turns a little less viscous after a bit of massaging. Then, it washes away layers of makeup very easily with water, leaving my skin feeling very fresh, clean and healthy.
Overall, I’d like to say I can see a significant improvement on my skin. The daily regime gives my skin a dewy look and it also feels soft, smooth and fantastic. If you have been reading my blog, you would know that I LOVE going to the beach and freediving. However, without any protection and correct remedies, both the sun and sea can really dry up the skin and make it look worn out for weeks after. Thanks to the kit–it continuously gives my skin a dewy look and a soft glow over my tan. In summary, I would definitely recommend RICE FORCE to friends and family 🙂
สุดท้ายนี้ ขอแถมว่า Make up Remover ของแบรนด์นี้ นับว่าเป็นหนึ่งใน remover ที่ดีที่สุดเท่าที่บีเคยใช้มา (จริง ๆ ไม่ได้เว่อร์ค่ะ) มันจะเป็นคลาย ๆ แผ่นฟิล์มบาง ๆ เหนอะ ๆ นิดหน่อยตอนแรก แต่พอนวดแล้วจะเหลวขึ้นและลื่นขึ้น พอใช้น้ำล้างออกเมคอัพก็หลุดออกมาด้วยอย่างง่ายดายเลย ผิวจะรู้สึกสด สะอาดหมดจดหายใจได้สะดวกค่ะ โดยรวม ๆ แล้ว บีขอบอกว่าบีสามารถเห็นว่าผิวดูดีขึ้นอย่างเห็นได้ชัด ถ้าใครติดตามบล๊อกบีอยู่ก็จะทราบว่า บีชอบไปทะเลและไปฟรีไดฟ์มาก ซึ่งทั้งแดดและน้ำทะเลนั้นทำให้ผิวเสีย เหี่ยวและแห้งกร้าน เมื่อบีได้ใช้ผลิตภัณฑ์ของ RICE FORCE แล้ว ไม่มีปัญหาตรงนี้เลยค่ะ ผิวจะเนียน ฉ่ำแล้วก็โกลวค่ะ (เป็นคนชอบตากแดดให้ผิวแทน คือ ดำค่ะ ไม่ขาว แต่ผิวเนียนเป็นสีนำ้ผึ้ง ไม่แห้งกร้านค่ะ)
